Planning Application Ready to Submit for Loft Conversion and Garden Room in Market Harborough

The tail end of last year we were working on this absolutely amazing project! The project involved adding a dormer to an existing loft conversion in order to make the the space usable as a home office.

The family had spent a large portion of their lives living in cities and were used to city living and architecture. They wanted something bold and modern. A talking point and something to be proud of.

The three storey house already had a modern extension to the rear so we used inspiration from this to ascertain the client's taste. We went with a zinc wrapped dormer frame with up and over glazing to flood the narrow area with light.

The zinc and glass contrast beautifully with the traditional brick and tile.

The low window, and up and over glazing, increase the feeling of space and frame of the views over the town. It allowed space enough to add more furniture to the narrow room too!

The clients also required another home office as both worked from home. They decided that a garden office pod would work best as there was a good amount of space in the garden.

We decided to add it to the very back of the garden where the house parking space was and we boxed in the car to make the area one large unit.

We're so happy with the result and now that the application is ready to go in for planning, we have our fingers and toes crossed that this one will be built - because it looks epic.
